Luke Bryan's "Signs of 1776" FFA Can Do Challenge

Bring service, creativity, and community impact together in your chapter through the Luke Bryan's "Signs of 1776" FFA Can Do Challenge, sponsored by Bayer in partnership with the Luke Bryan Farm Tour.

Pennsylvania FFA chapters are invited to collect canned goods and other non-perishable food items, create a patriotic-themed display, donate the food to a local food pantry or food bank, and share their completed project on Instagram for a chance to win exciting prizes. This initiative celebrates America's 250th anniversary while giving members a meaningful opportunity to serve their communities through teamwork, creativity, and service.

The winning Pennsylvania FFA chapter will receive:

  • $1,000 for their chapter

  • 30 tickets to the Luke Bryan Farm Tour at 1846 Farms in Latrobe, Pennsylvania

  • A potential meet-and-greet opportunity for five members

Entries must be submitted by September 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. EST by posting your chapter's project on Instagram and tagging the required accounts using the designated hashtags. Why Participate?

The Signs of 1776 FFA Can Do Challenge is an engaging way to kick off the school year by bringing your chapter together around a meaningful service project. Members will strengthen teamwork, practice creativity, and make a positive impact by supporting local food banks and pantries in their communities.

This challenge also provides members with an opportunity to showcase their chapter, celebrate agriculture and patriotism, and highlight the values of service and leadership that define FFA—all while competing for exciting prizes and creating lasting memories together.

 

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated on a 100-point scale using the following criteria:

Patriotic Spirit & Theme Representation (40 points)

  • How well the structure captures patriotic themes and the "Signs of 1776"

  • The design should clearly reflect American patriotic symbols, values, or historical elements

  • The patriotic theme should be easily recognizable and creatively interpreted

Creativity & Originality (25 points)

  • Designs should showcase a unique, imaginative concept using canned goods and/or non-perishable food items

  • Judges will evaluate engineering difficulty, visual appeal, and clever use of shape, scale, or storytelling elements that make the build stand out

Structural Execution (15 points)

  • Builds must be stable, well-organized, and demonstrate effort and planning

  • Judges will evaluate construction quality and overall visual impression

Community Impact, Scale & Presentation (20 points)

  • Total pounds or cans donated (visual or stated)

  • How well the chapter demonstrates commitment to community service and food security

  • Instagram post quality, including a caption that shares what inspired the design and how the chapter collected food

  • Compelling storytelling and overall presentation

Total Possible Score: 100 Points

Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie, the chapter whose submission receives the highest score in the Community Impact, Scale & Presentation category will be selected as the potential prize winner.
